We, at MED-X, are registered CPR instructors with the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa and are also registered Intensive Care nursing sisters, in a busy Trauma Intensive Care Unit. We have first hand experience in the necessity of ‘buying the victim time’ prior to admission to the hospital. Emergencies all require immediate and appropriate action and our courses are recommended for not only the medical profession but also for the general public (parents, domestic workers, teachers, child minders, care givers, grandparents, personal trainers/gym instructors etc.) with either limited or no medical training.
Description:
This course includes CPR Manuals, mouth-to-mouth barrier devices, gloves, memory cards as well as personalised tuition in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa and American Heart Association.
On completion of the course, the participant will be issued with a CPR certificate, valid for 2 years. This is an approved course as per the Resuscitation Council guidelines. We try to keep the parent/teacher classes and domestic/care-giver classes separate.
Course 2: Heartsaver CPR course with / without aed Training
Description:
This course includes a Heartsaver CPR Manual with the relevant CD included, mouth-to-mouth barrier devices, gloves, call cards, memory cards as well as personalised tuition in accordance with the standards and guidlines of the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa and American Heart Association. This course is offered including AED training for personal trainers and those vocations requiring use of an AED or excluding AED trainng for those not required to use such a device.
On completion of this course, the participant will be issued with a Heartsaver CPR certificate, valid for 2 years.

This course includes a BLS CPR Manual with the relevant CD included, mouth-to-mouth barrier devices, gloves, call cards, memory cards as well as personalised tuition in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa and American Heart Association.
This course is offered to medical and associated medical staff. On completion of the course, the participant will be issued with a BLS Heartsaver CPR certificate, which is valid for 2 years.

This course includes a First Aid (Heartsaver) Manual with the relevant CD included, mouth-to-mouth barrier devices, gloves, call cards, memory cards as well as personalised tuition in accordance with the standardsand guidelines of the Resucitation Council of Southern Africa and American Heart Association.
This is an approved course as per the Resuscitation Council guidelines, but is not as yet approved by the Department of Labour. Although it is a very comprehensive and intensive program and covers mostly the same topics as the Level 1 Course, there is no exam and it is only a 1 day session. On completion of the course, the participant will be issued with a First Aid certificate, valid for 2 years.

This is the recognised First Aid course run through the Department of Labour and includes both a theoretical and practical examination. On completion of this course, the participant will be issued with a First Aid (Level One) certificate, valid for 1 year and a CPR certificate valid for 2 years.
